Novi Sad

Novi Sad is the capital of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and the second largest city in the Republic of Serbia. It is an important economic, scientific, cultural, university, sports and exhibition centre.

At the gates of Europe towards its southeast part and Asia, on the juncture of motor-, rail- and water-ways. The "Nikola Tesla" airport in Belgrade is a gateway for all corners of the world.

The City is a trading centre and is the centre of the following industries: power supply, food, chemical and metal. Novi Sad is a significant cultural centre and the education tradition of the city dates back as far as its foundation, i.e. almost three centuries. As a tourist and catering centre it is known for its Petrovaradine Fortress and the Fruška Gora.

Novi Sad is also known for the Novi Sad Fair, which has been organising exhibitions for more than eighty years.
